🎳 Eu4 Which Dlcs Are Worth It
Lions of the North is great! Discussion. Up until now I had had plenty of fun runs, but holy shit this latest one is great! Started as Lubeck, completed the mission tree around 1550, thereby formed the Hanseatic league. Easily shifted to Prussia, now I have an excellent economy (and surprisingly many morale buffs) + Prussian military.
the thing is: without dlc there are some actions that you cannot do (or cannot do in a timely manner and have to wait 95 years in game) which makes absolutely no sense or make the game just painful to play. simple example is the favor mechanic for wars. triple_cock_smoker. • 1 yr. ago.
The DLC´s and big Patches together are the best soulution we have for Hoi 4. Without them the Modders can´t work. That´s fact since Version 1.0. And the Modders give the Devs Ideas they have don´t think of as well as the Devs the Modders in reverse. If not the Game is up to 60 % Scrap, 40 % OK.
Also, having that 8 years worth of income upfront can allow you to build more economic buildings to cover the 2+ years worth of income that you're losing. It can also be a good idea to pop it to prevent a loan due to gold loss event, as 5 years of 4% loan means you'll be paying for 20% of the loan amount in interest over 5 years, way more
Hello all, Just bought EU4, I've been told that Castile is one of the "easy" countries to start with and I have been trying to figure out reconquista, but I cannot figure out how to do it - watched some videos and it mentions something about "slackening," but that appears to be a DLC thing.
Is it worth it? The update have some issues. The dlc gives a few mission trees and Judaism mechanics, that's it. Nothing to buy on release. It's not nearly as broken as Leviathan is, however for a handful of mission trees on countries you'll likely never play again, and some Judaism flavor it's really not worth $10.
So I am just getting into EUIV, I have played hoi4 so I know about paradoxes dlc issues, so ii just wanted to ask which, if any, of the DLCs are…
The Europa Universalis IV subscription plan includes: All 14 major expansions, adding significant new options for players including the religious battles of Art of War, parliamentary politics of Common Sense and Chinese imperial drama of Mandate of Heaven. Access to all future expansions and content developed for Europa Universalis IV.
Yea. Some fun mission trees. I definitely say yes but not until a sale. It does have a ton of good content for sure, but it only effects the countries which received the new content though (which to be fair are most of the majors) so you don’t need to have it if you’re not planning on playing one of them any time soon.
At max innovativeness (100 %) you get -10% all tech cost, army tradition and naval tradition decay -1%. Auto transport with navies is a DLC feature - can't remember which one. It used to be a lot worse than that. The whole dev system was added to the vanilla game, but the ability to modify dev was not.
Eu4 is an old game that requires much more time and effort to get into. You will have to put a bare minimum of 100+ hours into the game just to learn the basics without any dlc mechanics, there is 300 dollars worth of dlc and the most recent patch and dlc are terrible to play on in my opinion.
10 votes, 17 comments. Not looking to drop $350 (holy shit, paradox is greedy), but apparently I am missing some features such as disinherit heir…
I disagree. I played CK2 when it came out and played (and loved playing) it for hundreds of hours before even the first paid DLC came out. EU4 can be enjoyed for hundreds of hours too without any DLC, in fact I recommend playing the first learning game with DLCs disabled even if you got them, the games are complex enough vanilla without adding the extra stuff each DLC brings.
Golden Century: playing a pirate republic is pretty fun in my opinion, and flagships and naval barrage are very useful. Also useful if you want the iberian mission trees. Leviathan: Great projects, extend regency, colonial nation options, and totemism (if playing in NA) are pretty nice. Centralize dev, pillage capital, and expand infrastructure
InquisitiveTroglodyt • 5 mo. ago. Half of the negative or mixed reviews are due to suggestions that the dlc is not worth $20 so they put negative but state it would be worth during a sale. Just join the Paradox simp possy and buy every dlc the minute it comes out. Then you don't need to read the reviews.
